A DESIRE FOR A NEW BEGINNING

Hey Friend,

Have you ever desired for God to give you a new beginning? Personally, I had been in that place for a long time. I wish I could tell you that the minute we ask God for a new beginning that we get the request answered quickly. However, I will not tell you that because that wasn't my experience and I don’t believe it’s biblical. Today happens to be my birthday and as I was preparing to transition from 27 to 28 I had been seeking God about his plans for my life. As I was seeking him he impressed on my heart that in my 28th year I would finally see the new beginning I had been praying for. This was great news, however there was a revelation I received that was probably more important than anything else.

THE JOURNEY TO THE NEW BEGINNING WAS FOR PREPARATION.

Upon this revelation I immediately thought of the children of Israel and King David. The Children of Israel were enslaved in Egypt, but God promised them a new beginning (Their own land flowing with milk and honey). However, they had to go on a JOURNEY to get to this NEW BEGINNING. This journey was for them to get to know God on a deeper level, to develop their trust in him, and to learn who they were (Identity) because we see that they were called to be set apart from other nations.

Now let’s jump right to David. David was a Shepherd Boy who would have a new beginning of one day being a King. However, we see that shortly after being anointed he goes on what I see as a JOURNEY fleeing from Saul (the man who was the current king before David). Now David was fleeing from Saul because Saul wanted to kill him, but his JOURNEY fleeing HAD PURPOSE. David learned many things from his journey (fleeing) that I believe helped prepare him for when he would walk into that new beginning (becoming King).

I don’t know what the new beginning you are desiring looks like. For some of you it might be a physical thing such as a new home and for others of you it might be a spiritual new beginning you desire. Whichever you are, I want you to know that God sees the desire you have, and he certainly wants to fulfill it. However, prior to the new beginning there might be a journey he needs you to take before you can see that new beginning fulfilled. I don’t always understand God’s plan, purpose, or timing behind things but what I do know is that I don’t need to understand to trust him.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts…”

Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV)

It is my prayer that this blog speaks to you and encourages you to seek the Lord concerning the new beginning you desire.

Many Blessings,
